Nelson Maternity

Minnesota winters are terribly unpredictable – sunny and mild one day with negative temps the next. This means winter sessions often get postponed in hopes of (slightly) warmer weather, so couples can act lovey dovey without freezing to death as they endure the frozen (yet beautifully stark white) tundra. With that said, I normally would have suggested postponing Rachel and Cale’s maternity session when that day’s temperatures were under 20 degrees. But babies’ arrivals are equally unpredictable as Minnesota winters, and Rachel and Cale were back in town for a baby shower, so we decided the show must go on! We snapped some photographs in under a half hour – right about when my hands stopped working well enough to close the camera’s shutter, and right before Rachel + Cale’s little man started to feel chilled in utero ;). While blankets have become hot props (no pun intended) to incorporate into photography sessions, the quilt Cale’s mom made the couple as a wedding present was most definitely a necessity for retaining body temperatures (not to mention visually appealing).

It’s always a joy to photograph previous wedding clients as they reach yet another milestone in their lives together. Rachel and Cale, I cannot wait to see your sweet baby boy and to watch you two transition into parenthood. What a beautiful journey you’re about to embark on 🙂NelsonMaternityPreview-1 NelsonMaternityPreview-2 NelsonMaternityPreview-3 NelsonMaternityPreview-4 NelsonMaternityPreview-5 NelsonMaternityPreview-6 NelsonMaternityPreview-7 NelsonMaternityPreview-8 NelsonMaternityPreview-9 NelsonMaternityPreview-10 NelsonMaternityPreview-11 NelsonMaternityPreview-12 NelsonMaternityPreview-13 NelsonMaternityPreview-14 NelsonMaternityPreview-15
