Kirsten + Aaron Engagement
My first interaction with Kirsten was similar to that with most inquiring couples – getting to know one other and hearing bits about hers and Aaron’s love story and upcoming wedding through an exchange of emails. Our next step was talking over the phone, where I could hear the joy and excitement in Kirsten’s voice as she rehashed proposal details: Aaron had arranged for the couple to visit one of their favorite spots (Minneopa Falls) to “recreate a selfie” Kirsten had as her phone wallpaper. In actuality, Aaron had coordinated a couple friends to play paparazzi and document his getting down on one knee to propose to the unknowing Kirsten. Their proposal took place during the first snow fall of the year, which caused treacherous conditions that led to one of the cameras breaking (this hurts my photographers’ heart). Nonetheless, Aaron pulled off a beautiful proposal and Kirsten clearly said YES (which I imagine she said with the biggest smile on her face, similar to the photos you’ll see below) and the couple celebrated their engagement with family and friends (san the ice cream Aaron initially had planned due to the cold weather conditions) .
That event took place many months ago, our initial email conversation and phone call took place a few months after that, and I only first met the couple in person the day of their engagement session, at none other than Minneopa Falls. I love when couples implement a location for engagement photos that contains both sweet sentiment and beautiful backdrops – Minneopa Falls was so worth the drive to Mankato and didn’t disappoint! I loved exploring with this easygoing couple and hearing even more about their proposal and love story as we walked the grounds that carry so much emotion and meaning for them. Enjoy this sneak peek of a couple beaming with joy and love! I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next June 🙂
