Meg + Robert Wedding – Minneapolis, MN
I didn’t meet Meg or Robert until their wedding day, but I just KNEW through our email interactions that we’d have “good chemistry” (the idea of having good chemistry with your photographer may sound funny, but it’s so important to have since photographers hang out with the bride and groom for the majority of their big day…I mean, I basically consider myself a bonus bridesmaid who’s taking the photos instead of in them ;)). The couple planned their entire wedding out of the state, as they navigate life in Seattle. They certainly pulled off their laid-back, backyard wedding with a bang!
Meg and Bobby met years ago, both working at Stub & Herbs on the University of Minnesota campus (boy, the stories Meg has about this place, I’m laughing to myself just thinking about them now). They are both knowledgable about craft beers, so it only made sense that their first look and photos were taken around Indeed! Brewery in Northeast Minneapolis. Once we wrapped up wedding party photos, the couple enjoyed a cold brew and good company inside the brewery before heading to their backyard reception.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted with pink bubbly in a custom glass (SO cute). Despite the windy day and bouts of rain, the weather cooperated and the intimate ceremony went on without a hitch. Meg and Bobby’s ceremony is a prime example of why I still offer a five hour wedding photography package – some weddings are small and laid-back enough to really make this package work, giving me an opportunity to capture the details and special moments in an abbreviated way. I wish I could’ve spent more time with this crew, celebrating a wonderful couple’s reunion – I ended my time with them with a stop at Stub & Herbs where the couple showed me their old and beloved stomping grounds.
Congratulations, Meg and Bobby! I’m raising a glass to toast your life together as husband and wife 🙂
